FADE IN:

INT. TRAIN CAR - DAY (FRIDAY)

PETER checks his phone as he walks.

PETER (V.O.)

Okay, your doctor friend

wants to sue somebody

for patent infringement... Must be very angry with

the free-riding...

He keys a long passage in reply.

INT. DINNER RECEPTION - NIGHT(FRIDAY)

Peter engages in small talks with GENTLEMAN#1 (40s) in a GROUP. GENTLEMAN#2 (60s) joins.

GENTLEMAN#2

(Pointing at Gentleman#1)

He's the very few who can

make me feel moved. He

donates to the University and

insists not to be named.

GENTLEMAN#1

(Smiling embarrassingly)

Nobody knows me anyway.

GENTLEMAN#2

(Frustrating)

There're many others who

demands this and that...

PETER (V.O.)

Giving back to society in

such a way deserves to be

praised in small circle.

INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY (SATURDAY)

Peter's WIFE comes home and cannot wait to talk to Peter.

WIFE

(Emotional)

That government lawyer

facing indecent assault

charges has jumped from

his high-floor flat and died.

What a waste!

PETER

The sexual offence is

not that serious and death

is not the penalty, even if

convicted...

(Pause) (V.O.)

What would the victims

think? Serve him right?

EXT. SEASIDE RESTAURANT - NIGHT (SATURDAY)

A singer with no legs in a wheelchair sings sweetly to solicit patrons as Peter, Peter's wife and their son are having dinner.

PETER (V.O.)

When there's life, there's

hope. Let me help in my

small way.

Peter gives the singer a note. Later, he passes another note to his wife who manages to give it to the leaving singer.

INT. STUDY - DAY (SUNDAY)

Surrounded by e-pads of different sizes, Peter works on his computer.

PETER (V.O.)

So busy that I've put aside

the domain decision writing for

many days. I must have at

least a first draft today!

Phone rings.

WIFE (O.S)

(Over the phone)

You've to drive me to our

pet's beauty parlour...

PETER

(Staring at computer screen)

Can I be excused....I mean

I'll come...

(Pause) (V.O.)

I need a break too!

INT. STUDY - NIGHT (SUNDAY)

Peter keeps his eyes on words and paragraphs on the computer screen.

A phone alert. Peter checks and we see "Dear Counsel, please advise over the phone." Peter looks at a clock which registers 10.00pm.

Peter checks a few photos depicting just small prints. Then his phone rings.

CALLER

(Over the phone)

...I'm not well...But have I got

a good case?...

PETER

(To phone)

...don't work too hard...

we've to be just to ourselves

too!

EXT. CAR - DAY (MONDAY)

Peter at driver seat. Radio news. We hear a report from a row and property damage to assault and manslaughter...

PETER (V.O.)

Things do get out of hand.

(Pause)

I don't think I've time to

go swimming this morning

...I need to edit the draft...

INT. STUDY- DAY (MONDAY)

TV news. We hear a report that President Trump was advised not to listen to a torture audio tape of a murdered journalist.

Peter, working on the computer, checks something. We see "Decision:..."

Pausing for awhile, Peter opens another window and types: "Daily Justice".

INT. INTERVIEW ROOM - DAY (MONDAY)

Peter in suit is with an Indian MALE and an Indian FEMALE. Peter speaks in English, the female talks to the male in Tamil.

A LADY comes in with papers in hand and talks to Peter earnestly. Peter nodes and talks to the Indians again.

INT. STUDY - NIGHT (MONDAY)

Working on the computer, Peter drafts something, carefully.

PETER (V.O.)

I need to help my Indian client.

(Pause)

Justice lives in us!

INT. SWIMMING POOL - NIGHT

Peter swims leisurely - breaststrokes, free style, backstrokes and occasionally, butterfly style.
