"Inside & Out"

During a New Year call in 2012, I watched with interest the movie "If You Are The One". Then, I discovered its equivalent in a television dating game series and watched the shows. Apart from learning colloquial Mandarin, I wanted to understand the practices, values and norms of the youth.

I found that young men and young women these days generally no longer believed what they were told without question. Even so, some of them would be persuaded to begin their first date in less than an hour. Seeing beautiful young women were picked up by capable young men, I got the the inspiration to write the song "Inside & Out" around Autumn 2011.

"Inside & Out" composed in August 2012 was one of my earlier simple love songs with lyrics in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. The lyrics reflected how the youth stories had impacted on me. Although I do not believe in love at first sight, men by natural design are attracted to good looking women and women by men's capability.

When this 2017 version was launched, I was very much encouraged by the frank feedback from lady friends. It was thought that the theme of the song was real and the presentation was cute and naughty. More importantly, the song should be highly persuasive to ladies!
