"Great Fortune, Great Profit"
On the morning of February 4, 2017, I received a friendly greeting wishing me great fortune if I resume work, and great profit if I resume business. I found it bland to just say "Thank You." And the thought motivated me to write the song "Great Fortune, Great Profit".
Before doing my morning exercise, I thought about the Cantonese lyrics of the song. In the afternoon, I modified the lyrics, thought about the melody and then found the guitar chords. In the late afternoon, I was pleased to have recorded the song after a few takes, or I would easily forget the melody if it was not fixed.
My pop-folk conversational Cantonese songs sound conversational, and I believe songs precedes languages. What makes my songs different from texts is that my lyrics are mostly point-to-multi-points sound bites and the melody has beats. Instead of just bland writing or talking, why don't we sing-talk to make a difference?
