"7th Day of CNY"

According to Chinese folklore, a snake-bodied goddess created humans on the 7th day of the Chinese New Year (CNY). And it follows that the 7th day of the CNY is the birthday of the human race, or everybody's birthday anniversary for the past 200,000 years or so, or since civilisaton. I thought I should write a song to celebrate the 7th day of the CNY and to sustain the cultural heritage.

On the 5th day of CNY 2017, I attempted on the Cantonese lyrics but did not have any melody yet. On the 6th day, I expanded and re-arranged the lyrics and got a simple melody. Instead of just saying the words, I tried to make the simple song with messages to sound a bit melodic, like a small piece in a musical.

I then recorded the song "The 7th Day of the Chinese New Year" and got the current version after several takes. I spent about two hours to include and edit the video footages. The song was first published on YouTube and Weibo soon after the arrival of the 7th day of CNY in 2017 and the feedback was not bad.
